Kamik History\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is no family throughout the Mediterranean, and perhaps even beyond, that did not have at least one specimen of this beautiful stone jug under its roof. Known by different names in every region, in our family remembered for generations as ‘Kamik.’ Varied in sizes and shapes, but with one role; preserving liquid gold \u2013 olive oil.<\/p>\n

Thanks to local master stonemasons, each Kamik was unique, carved from stone blocks and sealed with wooden lids. Alongside amphorae, it was the most common way to store olive oil for centuries. Today, due to the known effects of oxygen on the quality of olive oil, Kamik is used merely as a decoration for courtyards and terraces, reminding us of times gone by, bringing back the scent of olive oil from the childhood of our ancestors.<\/p>\n
